Considering the Future of CME/CPD Post Pandemic:
Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste

Recorded on Thursday, December 17, 2020, 12:00 - 1:00 PM ET

This year we have been busy keeping afloat - switching to virtual platforms, struggling to keep our staff, learners, faculty and budgets in the middle of the unprecedented times in our lives as socially conscious local and global citizens. Yet, we are all thinking about what the future of our field will look like as we prepare for 2021 and beyond. Dr. David Price and Dr. Craig Campbell started outlining and imagining that future in their recent JCEHP article. This article sparked the discussions with a group of thought leaders and experts in our field and an idea to continue that discussion with all of you, our CME/CPD community.

This final 2020 session of the SACME’s Virtual Journal Club will afford you the opportunity to engage directly in this discussion. The following key areas for retooling and reimagining will be reviewed: patient-centeredness, team-based learning and practice improvement, need for developing new competencies and content, how technology can support all levels of life-long-learning, assessment and faculty development, and the organizational restructuring to enable the needed shift in education.
